Establishment of a dialogue on cooperation was the main aim of a November 13 meeting between Pál Csáky, the vice-Premier for Human Rights and Minorities, and representatives of non-governmental organizations. Csáky reported that he had told NGO's of a new willingness in the Slovak government to work towards a new partnership with NGOs. He praised NGOs' activities during the election campaign, elections, and celebrated their contribution to the building of a civil society in Slovakia.
Pavol Demeš, spokesman for the Third Sector Gremium, an organization sheltering NGOs in Slovakia, stressed that Slovakia has a unique chance to build a partnership between the government and citizens. He applauded the new government's efforts to establish a connection with the NGO sector, as well as Csáky's promise that the new government would erase "all deformations" affecting NGOs in the legal system.
