LESS than six months after Slovakia joined the Schengen zone, its border with Austria will go up again at airports and land crossings from June 2 to July 1, the SITA newswire wrote.
Austria is re-establishing its borders with all its neighbours during that period as a security precaution against football hooligans hoping to attend the European Championship, which the country is co-hosting with Switzerland.
According to Vladimíra Hrebeňáková from the Communication Department of the Slovak Interior Minister's Office, movement across the border will be limited to official border crossings during the period.
