Employees of the Chinese Embassy were not among the people who attacked the human rights activists on Hodzovo Square during the visit of the Chinese president Hu Jintao to Bratislava on June 18, the first secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Bratislava, Gao Hong, told the TASR newswire.
The incident, according to the Chinese Embassy, was caused by a small group of anti-Chinese activists who tried to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the visit of the Chinese President to Slovakia, in an attempt to harm the good relations between China and Slovakia. The Embassy condemned their actions, Gao Hong said.
The protest of the activists was illegal, as they did not have a permit to hold a rally at Hodzovo Square, she added. TASR
