ALTHOUGH Slovakia's National Bank (NBS) made a verbal warning that preventative measure would be taken to stop the crown rising too quickly, the Slovak crown broke the 38.3 threshold Friday, reaching a new historical high of 38.28/31 SKK/EUR, the news agency TASR reported.
The rate of the crown is expected to go even higher against the euro, though stay somewhere between 38.2 and 38.4 SKK/EUR.
Against the Czech crown, Slovakia's currency firmed to 1.268/270 SKK/CZK, while it slightly eased to 29.45/49 SKK/USD against the U.S. dollar.
