A Czech Interior Ministry official said yesterday that Slovaks wishing to work or study in the Czech Republic would in future likely need a visa, a measure the Slovak Foreign Ministry said was likely to be bilateral. The move, both countries said, was not a sign of cooling relations but of demands for border tightening by the European Union.
