On January 21, the Sme daily wrote that parliament will sit on its hands that evening, as the sole point on the agenda is a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Robert Fico. But unlike in December, when all the opposition MPs walked out in protest of the vote’s time slot in the wee hours, the Christian Democrats (KDH) will take part.
However, the KDH announced its participation before the opposition was able to agree on whether it would attend or not. This led Pál Csáky, leader of the ethnic Hungarian SMK part, to criticize KDH chairman Pavol Hrušovský for “communicating through the media”. And Stanislav Janis, who heads the SDKÚ-DS deputy club, said his party would decide in the hours before the vote whether to attend. SITA
