Slovakia’s state budget deficit might reach €3.06 billion next year, according to the initial draft budget for 2013. Revenue is projected to reach €14.18 billion, while expenditure is expected to hit €17.24 billion, the TASR newswire reported.
The Finance Ministry increased its previous predictions, made in August, by €580 million on the revenue side of the budget, and by €320 million in expenses.
It also revised the sums allocated for certain ministries. The Education Ministry would get the highest sum, €2.46 billion, followed by the Transport Ministry with €2.29 billion and the Labour Ministry with €2.17 billion.
The Health Ministry is supposed to get €1.4 billion, the Agriculture Ministry €1.25 billion, the Interior Ministry €903 million, the Defence Ministry €748 million, the Finance Ministry €662 million and the Environment Ministry €604 million.
Among the departments with the lowest proposed budgets are the Justice Ministry with €314 million, Economy Ministry with €302 million, Culture Ministry with €189 million and the Foreign Affairs Ministry with €117 million.
Additionally, the Office of the Prosecutor General might receive €65 million, while the SIS intelligence agency might get €41 million, the Government Office €27 million, and the Office of the Parliament €24 million. The Supreme Court would receive €9 million, the Supreme Audit Office almost €8 million, the Office of the President more than €4 million and the Office of the Constitutional Court in Košice some €3 million.
