Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda has complained that Slovak judges “do not have the strength to act courageously” in ruling on cases involving high-level crimes involving former politicians and members of the SIS secret service.
The Bratislava III court, which has been assigned seven such cases, has as yet done nothing but refer two back to police for further investigation, and declare itself unable to rule on another.
A higher Bratislava region court is to rule on an appeal of the lower court’s decisions on June 5.
