Eight reasons why the far-right ĽSNS should be dismissed

General Prosecutor Jaromír Čižnár has listed them in a filed indictment.

When General Prosecutor Jaromír Čižnár filed a motion for the abolition of Marián Kotleba's People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) in May 2017, it generated a great response. Nevertheless, this has gradually died down as nothing has happened with his motion since then.

The Supreme Court said last year that the court's five-member senate, which has not yet started any judicial proceedings, would decide on the dismissal of the party. The date for this hearing, however, has not been set, Alexandra Važanová, a spokesperson for the Supreme Court, explained.

She added that the judges are currently studying the case file, which reportedly contains hours-long audio recordings.

"The senate also sits to decide on other serious tax-related cases and competition and environmental protection disputes," said the spokesperson, going on to say the administrative senate is the busiest of all the senates of the Supreme Court.

In the motion, submitted by Čižnár to the Supreme Court, he points to several public appearances of Kotleba's adherents, the party's manifesto and its views presented in the party newspaper.
