FOR the third time the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava awarded prizes bearing the name of Elsa Morante, an Italian writer, in late November 2011. The institute grants three prizes, one of which goes to an Italian film director, another to a Slovak film director, and the last to a translator of Italian literature into Slovak, the TASR newswire wrote.
The cinema prizes in 2011 went to Italian director Roberto Faenza and Slovak director Juraj Lihosit. Stanislav Vallo, a former Slovak ambassador to Italy, received the literary award for his translation of the novel The Viceroys by Federico De Roberto, and for spreading Italian culture.
