ACCORDING to rankings published by the Federation of European Employers (FEE), Slovaks are among the worst paid Europeans - taking 35th place out of 48 countries involved in the comparative study.
The “Pay in Europe 2005” study indicates that Slovaks earn only 11 percent of the Danish salary, the highest earning nation, according to the study, the TASR news agency reported.
Slovakia's neighbours Hungary and the Czech Republic both reached 13 percent (31st and 32nd respectively), while Poles also earn just 11 percent of the Danes’ earnings.
Of the EU member states, only Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are worse off than Slovakia.
After the Danes, people in Switzerland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, and Germany are the highest earning Europeans.
