THE SLOVAK government approved a mechanism for distributing €11.2 billion in money from the European Union for the 2007 to 2013 budgeting period.

According to the National Strategic Reference Framework, Slovakia should draw the EU funds through nine operating programs (OPs). Up to 75 percent of the money will be handed out through four main OPs - Transport, Environment, Regions and the Knowledge-Based Economy.
