THE EUROPEAN Parliament approved financial aid of €5.7 million (Sk216.5 million) to help Slovakia's Tatras Mountains following last year's damaging windstorm, the Hospodárske noviny daily wrote.
The amount of aid represents less than 3 percent of the total damages caused by the wind.
Although a concrete plan as not yet been approved, it is proposed that around 42 percent of the money could be used for infrastructure reconstruction and the rest would be used for the payment of works related to the re-cultivation of the area.
