On Thursday evening May 12, the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 continues in Slovakia for its second day, the TASR newswire wrote.

The contest, in the 56th year, features countries competing for ten places for the finals in Germany. Slovakia is represented by Daniela Jančichová and Veronika Nízlová, twins who use the stage name TwiiNS. They will perform the I'm Still Alive song, authored by Slovak Braňo Jančich.

In the Duesseldorf Esprit Arena in Germany, competitors from Serbia, Lithuania, Greece, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Switzerland, Hungary, Finland, Russia and Iceland were advanced to the shortlist in the contest.

Apart from ten countries chosen by the “semi-finals” evenings, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Italy and the host, Germany, will go directly to the finals.
