Fatal crash spurs plans for heightened inspections

The Interior Ministry plans to intensify the use of mobile technical inspection stations for trucks and buses.

Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák met with President Ivan Gašparovič on September 5 to discuss investigation into a fatal bush crash near Hriňová last weekend. Four people died.

Police say faulty brakes may have caused the driver to lose control of the bus on a steep hill.

The inspection stations would check the technical conditions of trucks and buses.
