THE LEVEL of female employment is much lower in Slovakia than in other European Union (EU) countries, according to a report by the European Commission.
That is despite Slovak legislation guaranteeing equal rights and conditions for males and females on the labour market.
The only EU countries where female employment is at a lower level are Hungary and Poland, sociologist Magdalena Piscová told the daily SME.
Employment of older women in Slovakia is “extremely low” and there is a different attitude to men and women as they approach retirement age, the daily reported.
