While I'm the Prime Minister, there will be no change in the retirement sage, Robert Fico said in Bratislava on October 6.

He was speaking after the session of constitutional officials concerning a document called the Long-Term Vision of the Development of Slovak Society. The document includes a thesis on the basis of which the retirement age could be raised from 62 to 67. The vision also mentions the introduction of various fees in health services and says that it will be necessary to increase people’s activity levels in their post-working lives.

"While I'm prime minister, no fees will be introduced either. Such ideas prove that they were not prepared by the government, but that this document is scientific and goes across the political spectrum," Fico said.

The Long-Term Vision of Slovak Society Until 2030 was prepared by the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) in co-operation with the Economic and Comenius universities in Bratislava and other institutions. TASR
