Finland: The 18th Jyväskylä Summer School

THE JYVÄSKYLÄ Summer School is organised by the Faculty of Mathematics and Science and the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. The summer school offers annual courses for advanced Master’s students, graduate students and post-docs in various fields of science and information technology.

Students from all over the world are encouraged to take advantage of the school’s high quality, interdisciplinary teaching. The summer school will take place between August 6 and 22, 2008, offering courses in biology, chemistry, computer science and information systems, mathematics, physics, renewable energy, scientific computing and statistics. Please note that there may be prerequisites for some of the courses. The language of instruction in all courses is English. The summer school is free of charge. In addition, the school will distribute approximately 30 grants to cover accommodation in a student apartment and travelling expenses up to €100. All students may apply for a grant by filling an application online and sending it, along with a CV and recommendation letter, via regular mail.
