The investment by the French carmaker, PSA Peugeot Citroën Slovakia, in Trnava has been one of the biggest recent investments in Slovakia. It led to a breakthrough in perceptions of Slovakia as a potential investment destination from the point of view of French companies. Other important investments have gone into logistics (Gefco), energy (regional power distributor SSE), mobile telecommunications (Orange Slovensko), finance (Caylon and AXA), construction (Eurovia Cesty and Inžinierske Stavby) as well as the food industry (Danone and Bongrain).
