THE GROUND beneath Education Minister’s Martin Fronc’s feet is shaky according to the Pravda daily.
The minister’s new law on the university fees is by no means certain to get the support of a sufficient number of MPs, the daily reports.
One week before parliament is due to decide the law's fate, Fronc cannot count on the 12 votes from Pavol Rusko's New Citizen’s Alliance(ANO) party. Independent MPs are also hesitating, despite giving the law their support in its first reading.
The Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) sent a message to Fronc telling him that unless he makes the changes the party is requesting SMK MPs will not support the draft bill amendment.
Before parliament decides on the university fees issue, Minister Fronc has to face an opposition proposal that he be made to step down.
