Mica, who has a Slovak roots, said the visa issue is a long-term one and could not give a specific date for the visa cancellation.

Among other things, Gašparovič and Mica discussed the impact of hurricane Katrina and the hurricane-force windstorm in the High Tatras from November 2004.

Republican party member Mica, representing Florida in the Congress, will also meet Slovak Premier Mikuláš Dzurinda and visit other Slovak regions besides Bratislava.
