A POLICE intervention during the Gorilla Protest held in Bratislava on March 9, one day before the general election, will be investigated by the Office of the General Prosecutor after 172 citizens submitted complaints regarding the actions by the police on that day, the TASR newswire reported.
The Gorilla Protest Civil Movement, the organisers of the demonstration, stated in their mass complaint that the police “were misused against defenceless people” in an “unlawful and brutal intervention”.
A first criminal complaint was filed by Štefan Potocký from Kalná nad Hronom, one of the Gorilla Protest organisers, shortly after the March 9 demonstration, claiming that the clashes that day were provoked by the police who were accompanying protesters during their march towards the parliament building.
