The Government on September 4 expressed support for Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Viera Tomanová, who faced a no-confidence motion launched by opposition MPs later in the day. Parliament convened in the morning to discuss the motion, the only subject set for debate at the session.
In its initiative against Tomanová, the opposition charges the minister with incompetence, preparing proposals that are harmful to the public, and mismanagement of public funds.
The Cabinet described the charges as trumped up and said the minister conducts herself professionally and performs the duties set out in the coalition’s manifesto.
