BASED on an internal report, the government will look into the privatisation of electricity utility Slovenské Elektrárne (SE) and the current situation at the Gabčíkovo hydroelectric dam, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico told journalists after the government session on November 8.

"In view of the huge suspicions surrounding the SE privatisation, the government is considering looking into the privatisation," said Fico.

"The Government will also lift the oath-of-silence obligations for economy and environment ministry employees, as well as those of the National Property Fund and Vodohospodárska Výstavba (Water Management Construction) employees, regarding contractual documents connected to the SE privatisation and to property relations at Gabčíkovo," added the premier.

The inquiry into the legal and economic relevance of the method of SE privatisation and the establishing of property relations at Gabčíkovo, which is managed by Vodohospodárska Výstavba, was prepared by government officials and submitted to the government plenary session on November 8, TASR reported.
