SUPREME Court President Štefan Harabin was admitted to hospital in Vienna on January 8 after falling unconscious at Vienna International Airport shortly before a flight to Chile, where he had planned to attend a conference. As he was getting on the plane he collapsed, in the process suffering several injuries, the Čas.sk news website reported.
Harabin was later moved to a hospital in Bratislava, where his condition improved. On January 9 he was reported to be in stable condition but was kept in hospital for further medical observation. He had suffered minor injuries to his head and ribs in the fall, the TASR newswire wrote.
Harabin has a history of high blood pressure. In October 2012 he underwent a hip operation after which he was unable to work for several months. He returned to work only this month, the Sme.sk website wrote.
