One of the toughest critics of Supreme Court President Štefan Harabin, Judge Peter Paluda, wants to compete in May for the post of his deputy. He had already run in the past but he gave up his candidacy shortly before the race, the Sme daily wrote in its Wednesday, February 20, issue.
In the era of former prime minister Iveta Radičová, the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party wanted to see him in the top post of the National Security Office, NBÚ. Paluda's rival in the race will this time around be Judge Jarmila Urbancová. The second most important post at the Supreme Court has been vacant since May 2010.
