Hungarian President Pál Schmitt will come to Slovakia for an official visit on Thursday, January 20, Elena Bianchi from the Slovak President’s Office press department told the TASR newswire on Tuesday.
Schmitt will be welcomed by his host, Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič, at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava. The heads of state will then hold face-to-face talks followed by a plenary session involving the two delegations. The Hungarian president will also meet Prime Minister Iveta Radičová and visit the Hungarian pavilion at a trade fair at Bratislava’s Incheba centre.
Schmitt’s visit is also due to include a meeting with representatives of ethnic-Hungarian minority organisations in Slovakia. The visit will end with a ceremonial dinner held at the Presidential Palace in the evening.
