ON MAY 6, the opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) presented its priorities at a HZDS meeting in Námestovo.
The main priorities include investments in education, infrastructure development, the reduction of regional disparities, support for the status of Slovak citizens, and support for small- and medium-sized businesses.
The campaign mascot will be a lion cub, which, according to HZDS Secretary Zdenka Kramplová, represents nobility, openness, a fighting spirit and a direct approach.
"All members of the party management were born under the sign of Leo, as were many candidates among the top 50 on our list for elections," she said to the TASR wire service.
Kramplová, HZDS vice-chairs Viliam Veteška and Milan Urbáni, and the number two on the HZDS' candidates list, Beata Sániová, presented the lion logo at a press conference.
In the first phase of the HZDS campaign, only the party's mottos and its four priorities will appear, while in the second phase, the party leaders will be presented.
