SLOVAKIA's largest health insurance provider, Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa (VšZP), is the first health insurer in the country to come up with quality assessments of Slovak hospitals, health care service providers and other health care facilities.
VšZP analyst Ján Šimo told the SME daily that the assessments should serve only as a source of information, and that the company was expecting feedback on the chart from doctors and patients.
Among other things, the assessments indicate whether the listed health care service providers offer high, standard or low quality patient care.
