THE BONES dug out of the alleged grave of Jozef Tiso, the president of the wartime Slovak State, will go through a DNA test.
Tiso's symbolic grave at Bratislava's Martinský Cintorín (cemetery) was opened at the request of the Civil Association of Andrej Hlinka (OZAH), supported by Bratislava Catholic priest Štefan Herényi.
OZAH wants to erect a new tombstone for Tiso at the cemetery that would be unveiled on April 18, 2007 - exactly 60 years after his execution. It is unclear whether the remains really belong to Tiso.
According to some sources, Tiso's grave was opened in the 1970s by members of the ŠtB, the communist secret service, and his body cremated in Brno.
