ITALIAN family firm Travaglini plans to build an industrial unit in the IPZ Záborské industrial park in eastern Slovakia, where it will pack products for Honeywell, a US-based firm. The Italian company plans to buy a hectare of land and construct a unit of about 6,000 square metres. To begin with the firm should employ at least 100 people, the SITA newswire wrote.
The sale of the land must first be approved by the municipal office of the city of Prešov. If the deal is approved, construction work will start at the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013.
“The investment will again contribute to the development of the industrial infrastructure of the region and the creation of jobs to allow school leavers as well as jobseekers to find employment here,” said Prešov’s mayor, Pavel Hagyari.
Honeywell is building a factory in the same industrial park where it will manufacture turbo-chargers for the automotive industry. It intends to employ 450 people there.
Travaglini, launched 32 years ago, works in packaging, logistics and transportation.
