SUPREME Court President Štefan Harabin initiated disciplinary proceedings in September 2009 against Judge Jozef Kandera for allegedly neglecting four cases, the Sme daily reported.
The head of the disciplinary panel, Harald Stiffel, did not want to say whether the judge is guilty of procrastination until he knows more about the scope of the casefiles. Kandera says that he has been studying the cases, which he does not consider to be inactivity or procrastination. Kandera is one of the 105 signers of a petition alleging that Harabin has been abusing disciplinary proceedings against judges.
