Judge Lauková filed a criminal complaint against Buľubášová in which she claimed her superior tried to improperly influence her. As evidence she submitted a note from Buľubášová which stated that she should release a certain prisoner. Judge Lauková did not do so and shortly afterwards she was transferred from the penal department to the civil law department. Then she became ill, was on sick leave, and was stripped of certain bonuses as her court superiors alleged that her sick leave was purposeful.

The police stopped prosecution against Buľubášová and closed the case, stating that no crime had been committed.

“It’s not a coincidence that two months after my mother’s death they stopped the criminal prosecution,” her daughter Zuzana Lauková told the Sme daily.
