The Kia Motors assembly plant in Teplička nad Váhom will suspend its assembly operations for two days this week on October 1 and 2 while production of engines will continue normally in a non-stop regime, TASR was told by Kia Motors Slovakia spokesman Dušan Dvořák on September 30.
The reason for the temporary shutdown is the low demand related to the current instability on European markets. “The production of cars is flexible and it needs to be adjusted to the real requirements of the market. It can't be ruled out that a similar situation might emerge in the future,” said Dvořák. Kia Motors Slovakia suspended assembly the last two Fridays for the same reason. TASR
