A PROPOSAL to complete a Russian-style broad-gauged railway and move its terminal to Bratislava instead of Košice has met with disapproval by representatives of the Košice Region.
Transport Minister Ľubomír Vážny and the head of Russian Railways, Vladimir Yanukin, signed a memorandum of understanding which mentioned the extension of the broad-gauged railway to Bratislava, during Vážny's visit to Moscow on May 4.
"It will mean that the Košice Region's last remaining advantage over Bratislava will be moved to the capital," Zdenko Trebuľa, the Košice Region governor, said on May 13.
