Slovakia's Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family Viera Tomanová is going to call a meeting with representatives of the Association of Pension Fund Management Companies (ADSS) and ministry representatives as soon as possible, the SITA newswire wrote.
According to the ministry's media department, the reason behind this meeting is the ADSS’ reactions to information published in the ministry's leaflet that compares pensions from the state-run pay-as-you-go scheme and private pension funds.
The minister stands behind the information published in the leaflet, reads the ministry's statement. The Labour Ministry's leaflet has also been criticised by the opposition.
On May 5, Iveta Radičová, deputy chairperson of the opposition SDKÚ-DS and former Labour Minister, requested in a letter that Tomanová hold an urgent expert roundtable discussion in the presence of specialists in the pension saving system, who would clarify disputed pension calculations in the ministry's information leaflet.
