The new head of the General Prosecutor's Office should already been selected but parliament failed in several attempts to do so. According to the law, the post is taken by the deputy general prosecutor in such cases.

Speaker of Parliament Richard Sulík (SaS) announced on January 11 that a general prosecutor should be selected within five or six months.
