THREE people have been arrested and charged with fraud connected with the Comenius University's Law School in Bratislava. The fraudsters were detained in custody in connection with a scam involving entrance and end-of-semester examinations, the Pravda daily reported. The main reason for the detention is to ensure an independent trial.
Jana Pôbišová, of the press department of the Interior Ministry, confirmed that the investigation is continuing and that more people may be charged in connection with the case.
As yet, no evidence that employees at the faculty were involved in the scam has come to light. The three arrested allegedly relayed via a radio link correct answers to students sitting examinations. The perpetrators are thought to have earned around Sk4 million (€104,000) from the scam in the past two years.
