MAHMUD HAMMOUD, a Lebanese man living in Slovakia, has not been seen since taking his two children on a trip on February 9. Hammoud is undergoing divorce proceedings with his Slovak wife, Daniela Hammoud, the SITA newswire reported.
On February 15, the Trenčín District Court ordered Hammoud to return his nine-year-old daughter Fatima and four-year-old son Husein to their mother.
"The court has evidence that the father has taken the children abroad without approval from their mother and has been refusing to give them back or say where they are," Roman Tarabus, spokesman for the court, told the SITA newswire.
"It is unknown whether the children's health is in danger," Tarabus continued.
Slovak police are investigating the case and have involved Interpol.
