Dear Sir,
I would like to comment on an article written by Daniel J. Stoll published last year ("Hungarians replace autonomy rhetoric with decentralization," Vol. 3, No. 23, December 4-17, 1997).
I'd like to commend him and your publication on the handling of "language and minority rights" issues. Keep up this ethical journalistic approach . If this is done, I believe democracy and an end to these stupid ethnic issues will come soon.
My great grandparents were Magyars who came from a region that is now in Slovakia. I currently still have many relatives there. As a matter of fact, three of my great grandparents spoke Slovak as well as Hungarian. It didn't take schooling to do this. They learned because they did business and socialized with their Slovak neighbors. We can all learn from this example.
Thanks from a proud Magyar and a friend to Slovaks.
