Vladimír Lexa, the father of fugitive ex-secret service boss Ivan Lexa, said in an interview with the Sme daily it was “high time Ivan returned [to Slovakia”. Speaking days after a Bratislava court ruled that Lexa could not be tried in relation to the kidnapping of the former president’s son due to an amnesty issued by former PM Vladimír Mečiar in 1998 as acting president, Lexa Sr. said the last major barrier to his son’s return was an international warrant for his arrest.
