McDonald's Slovakia reports 16.5 percent growth in sales in 2005

FAST FOOD chain McDonald's Slovakia reported a 16.5 percent growth in sales last year to Sk702.5 million (€18.7 million).

According to company spokesperson Drahomíra Jiráková, McDonald's Slovakia also recorded strong growth in customer numbers, from 7.53 million in 2004 to 8.34 million the following year, a rise of 10.8 percent.

McDonald's has increased its sales revenues and customer numbers in Slovakia for four years in a row, although it has added no new restaurants. McDonald's operates 16 restaurants in six cities in Slovakia, the SITA news agency wrote.

The number of its employees rose by 10.5 percent in 2005 to 918.
