GERMAN Chancellor Angela Merkel, who visited Slovakia yesterday, expressed her appreciation of the reforms carried out in Slovakia under the right wing Mikuláš Dzurinda government.
Merkel thus became another in a row of international leaders, including British PM Tony Blair and European Commission head José Manuel Barroso, to praise the cabinet's reforms, the Pravda daily wrote.
"The [Slovak] results show that this is the right way," Merkel said.
The chancellor said she believed that its reforms would enable Slovakia to catch up with the older EU members as soon as possible.
