The ratio of people using mobile telephones in Slovakia increased by 4.6 percentage points in 2005 from the year before to 84.1 percent.
As of December 31, in a country of 5.4 million people, the two Slovak mobile phone operators, T-Mobile and Orange Slovensko, registered a total of 4.5 million customers, the SME daily wrote.
Orange Slovensko Director Pavol Lančarič said his company had 2.5 million customers at the end of last year.
