Hundreds of motorcyclists from across Slovakia staged a protest ride between Trnava and Bratislava on Sunday afternoon, to show their disapproval with government plans to reduce speed limits for them from 130 km/h to 90 km/h.

"In Europe motorbikes travel at 130 km/h. We just want to be allowed to travel at the same speed on the motorways," said protest organiser Peter Fischer.

Director of the regional transport inspectorate in Trnava, Pavol Gabriška, said, "I can't remember any motorway accidents involving motorcyclists."
