The Transport Ministry-drafted amendment is designed to cut the fine for offences where drivers fail to enter data into an OBU, enter incomplete or false information, or fail to make the OBU available to a road-toll administrator. The amendment expands the range of toll-free vehicles to include the police and emergency services vehicles. Legislators also approved Smer MP Peter Pelegrini's amending proposal for the reduction in fines to be made retroactive, to January 1, and thereby apply to drivers whose fines are currently under review.
