Kosovo is Serbian" - several hundred protesters shouted at a demonstration in Bratislava on Wednesday, March 5, the TASR newswire wrote.
The demonstration was attended by members of loosely knit Slovenská Pospolitosť (Slovak Togetherness), which once enjoyed party status but was banned two years ago.
The speeches in front of Presidential Palace featured warnings against the dangerous precedent being set in Kosovo that could result in a wave of radicalisation and ethnic violence in Europe. Other protesters warned against a dangerous trend of Euro-Islamism. Similar demonstrations are envisaged to take place also in other Slovak towns.
[Last month, Kosovo declared independence from Serbia and as quickly recognized by major powers such as the USA, UK and France. The independence has not gained UN approval, though, because veto-wielding Russia is against it]. TASR
