The law on election campaigning also stipulates that publishing information about candidates running in the election “whether to their benefit or detriment, in TV broadcasts, audio-visual media service on demand, in periodicals, in non-periodical publications and on newswires” is possible only till 7.00 on March 3, the SITA newswire wrote.
The law says that “48 hours before the start of the election and on the election day until the voting ends”, the publishing of information about election candidates is prohibited; however this does not include internet broadcasting. The publishing of election polls is banned from 14 days before the election, until the voting is completed. According to the new law, political parties could have started their campaigns on the day when it was published in the Collection of Laws, i.e. November 12, 2015.
