NGOs compete for 2 percent of income tax

WITH the March-end deadline for the submission of tax returns fast approaching, NGOs in Slovakia are competing for the taxes they are eligible to receive from individuals and corporate entities.

Private individuals and legal entities can choose which of among 7,084 registered NGOs they wish to assign 2 percent of their taxes. Compared with last year, the number of eligible organizations has increased by 1,300, according to the SITA news agency.
