The average retail price of 95-octane petrol was Sk39.35 per litre as of April 1 of this year, according to data of the Slovak Statistics Office.
The average retail price of LPG reached Sk22.15 per litre and diesel was Sk41.72 per litre. Compared with prices from March 20 of this year, the average prices of 95-octane petrol, diesel and LPG showed no change.
In January 1997, the price of 91-octane petrol was Sk21.31 per litre, and one litre of 95-octane petrol was sold for Sk22.39. A litre of diesel cost Sk20.89.
Prices have gradually increased, and by the first months of 2000, they exceeded Sk30 per litre. Over time, prices approached Sk40, which they broke through in September 2005. As of September 4, 2006, one litre of 95-octane petrol cost Sk40.47 and 98-octane petrol was available for Sk43.09. Drivers paid Sk41.26 per litre of diesel and Sk21.69 for LPG.
At the end of last year, a litre of 95-octane petrol was sold at Sk38.90, a litre of diesel at Sk40.85 and a litre of LPG at Sk21.69. SITA
